Murray Family Portraits

It was a beautiful evening the night I met with the Murray family to capture some portraits of their family.  These guys are personal friends of ours, and our kids absolutely love one another.  Their youngest is just three days younger than our youngest.  Destined to be best friends, just like their older sisters are!  🙂

Angel, the oldest, was not happy about having to walk through the long grass because she was worried about getting a tick.  I hope she didn’t end up with any.  But I did have them stand on a trunk for this photo, so I didn’t torture them too badly!

The baby.  But she isn’t really a baby anymore.  Why do our babies have to grow up so fast?!?

DSC_6189 copy

I love this one even if Dad isn’t looking at the camera.

DSC_6206 copy

Such a sweet family!  I love that they included their dog, Emma!

DSC_6243 copy

How sweet is this little guy?  He and my little guy have the best time together.  Don’t his pretty eyes look like little chocolate buttons?  I love them!

DSC_6228 copy

She has those chocolate button eyes too!

DSC_6405 copy

Took me a while, but I finally got a small smile out of her!

DSC_6331 copy

Mom told me she wanted one of them all walking together.  The baby kept taking off running, so I wasn’t sure if I would get a really good one.  I am pretty happy with how this turned out.

DSC_6339 copy

See what I mean about her running away?  Her expression is so adorable here!

DSC_6349 copy

There is just something so sweet about a Daddy with his little girl!

DSC_6210 copy

How cute are they?

DSC_6355 copy

I gave her a flower to hold, and she was quite fascinated by it.

DSC_6380 copy

Again, there was some concern about ticks here.  🙂

DSC_6412 copy

The girls!  I love Elena looking over at her Daddy!

DSC_6429 copy

The boys.

DSC_6474 copy

The grandparents were in town, so we had to get a shot with the whole family!

DSC_6456 copy

This one cracks me up!  I love Grandpa tickling the baby.  And big sister photo bomb in the back is a nice touch too!  🙂

DSC_6483 copy

There are those big chocolate button eyes again!

DSC_6495 copy

All the girls!

DSC_6493 copy

And an outtake from the girls’ shot!  Silly girl.

Seriously, how sweet is she??  I could eat her with a spoon she is so adorable.

Thanks, Murray Family, for letting me tell your story!  XOXO

Rousseau Gender Reveal

As I mentioned here, my two very best friends are both pregnant at the same time!  How cool is that?  Melissa wanted to do a gender reveal shoot, and I jumped at the chance to get some more shots of kids that didn’t share my DNA.  🙂

I had suggested before the shoot that everybody wear the color to correspond with their guess of what the baby’s gender was going to be.  Melissa responded that she was going to wear what fit no matter the color!  Ha!  I’ve been there.  But they all did end up wearing something that was either pink or blue to represent their guess.

Melissa and Sam wore something blue while John and Jade wore something pink.  Jade wore pearls too, but sadly John must have left his at home.  😉

DSC_5761 copy

See them peeking out??

DSC_5767 copy

We explained it to the kids before the shoot, but the colored balloons still warranted an explanation.  Immediately after the balloons popped out, John exclaimed “I was right!” Such a goof!

DSC_5789 copy

We had to do some kid shots with the balloons.  This was what I got when I suggested Sam put his arm around Jade.  I guess that is a big brother for you!  🙂

DSC_5796 copy

How sweet are they???

DSC_5802 copy

This one cracks me up.  Jade looks so awkward.  Sam made her put her arm completely around him, and she looks so uncomfortable.  🙂

DSC_5812 copy

Peekaboo, Sam!

DSC_5814 copy

Doesn’t she have the prettiest blue eyes?

DSC_5817 copy

This may be one of my favorite photos I have ever taken.  I LOVE it!  Her expression. Her pearls. Her blue eyes.  I just love it!!

DSC_5819 copy

Such a ham!

DSC_5821 copy

Somebody gave her this flower just before they left her grandma’s house.  She insisted on having it in her photos.  I have to admit, it did make an excellent prop!

DSC_5829 copy

He was cracking up as I was batting the balloons away and snapping photos.  🙂  I just love how you can almost hear his laughter here!

DSC_5838 copy

I think the stamen was practically up her nose.

DSC_5846 copy

Yep!  Pretty much up her nose.  🙂

DSC_5848 copy

She has the best expressions!

DSC_5985 copy

Family photo.

DSC_6010 copy

And she is pretty much done with photos.  It was about time for Jade to take a nap, and she’d had enough.

DSC_6017 copy

I am only including this last one as an outtake.  Nobody is looking, and Jade is pouting.  But. I LOVE Sam’s expression here.  So sweet!

Thanks for letting me tell your story, Rousseau family!  XOXO

Koontz Gender Reveal

Two of my very best friends are pregnant at the same time.  Melissa wanted to do a gender reveal shoot for her family – find those photos here.  My other friend, Jeanne, wanted to do a gender reveal shoot for their son, Aiden.  She and her hubby found out the gender of the baby during an ultrasound a few days before the shoot.  Aiden was thinking pink and hoping for a sister, but…

You can see his expression start to change here.

DSC_5869 copy

And here realization sets in that he is not getting the sister he wanted.  He was quite disappointed.  Sweet little guy!  Side note: the day before, Jeanne texted me saying that Aiden wanted a sister AND a brother.  She informed him that they were done, and she wasn’t going to have any more kids.  He asked “How did Rosemary have four kids?”  Heehee!  That gave me quite the chuckle!

DSC_5874 copy

Not exactly the photo they would have hoped for I imagine, but it will be a funny story for when their boys are grown!

DSC_5892 copy

I love his sweet pout!

DSC_5894 copy

DSC_5895 copy

I love that they have the same expression here.

DSC_5909 copy

My sweet friends!  Not many guys can pull off curly hair like Danny does.  He has such pretty curls!

DSC_5914 copy

The unattractive side of pregnancy.  🙂  Thanks for being a good sport, Danny!

DSC_5927 copy

Okay, baby, I guess I’ll like you!

DSC_5932 copy

Shy grin!

DSC_5938 copy

I love this one especially because you can see his big brother shirt.  He wears it with pride!

A photo of the whole family!

Thanks for letting me tell your story, Koontz family!  XOXO
